What Is The Best Way To Reheat Mashed Potatoes

I have recently discovered what the very best way to reheat mashed potatoes is, without drying them out - in fact, just like a curry tasting better reheated the day after you first cooked it, the same can be said for reheating mashed potato, if you do it the right way!

So is the answer:

a) In the oven
b) In a slow cooker
c) In a frying pan to make bubble and squeak
d) In the microwave

If you said any of the above, then I am afraid you are wrong!  The best way to reheat leftover mashed potato is using a saucepan on your hob/stove!

So simple, yet so quick and effective to reheat it in a saucepan:

Keep stirring on a relatively high heat:

Break it up a bit with a stirring spoon and then give it a good stir.  To start with you may think it's going to stay cold and lumpy but trust me, keep stirring!

Within a matter of just a few minutes your cold mashed potatoes will become hot and fluffy again and more importantly will remain hotter for longer than if you used a different methos such as putting in the microwave.
