What Is It?
A former work colleague of mine introduced me to the Camel Camel Camel website that is specifically for searching the history of Amazon prices so you can instantly see if something you have your eye on really is at a genuinely low price or not.
CamelCamelCamel periodically checks Amazons website and records the price of each items it sells, thus creating a price history. You can even set up alerts where you can get the website to email you when an item you are interested in goes below a certain price.
How Does It Work?
Simply search Amazon for an item you're interested in, copy and paste the website link/address/URL in to the CamelCamelCamel website and take a look at the results.
Worked Example
Say you were interested in buying an Amazon Fire Stick...
Simply highlight the website address/page/URL/link in the address bar of your chosen internet browse and Copy/Paste it in to the www.camelcamelcamel.com website:
As you can see, the current price is £39.99 and on at least 4 occasions in the last 3 months it has gone below £30 with £24.99 being its lowest price. You can now make an informed decision.
CamelCamelCamel is a great tool to use around special events like Black Friday, Amazon Prime Day(s) or even Amazon Spring Day Deals (this was when is was at the low, low price of £24.99).
In conclusion you can now decide if £39.99 is a price worth paying or if you want to see if it goes down to £29.99 in the next month or so or whether you want to wait until the next major even (like Prime Day) to see if it goes to the lowest price of £24.99 again.
