Pressure Cooker Chinese Ribs Recipe

Ribs that fall off the bone covered in a Chinese Takeaway style sauce - just thinking about it is making my mouth water!



Portions: 2-6


Ingredients

  • Rack of Ribs with the membrane removed
  • ½ cup Light Soy Sauce
  • ½ cup Water
  • 1 tsp fine sea Salt
  • 1 tsp Chinese 5 Spice
  • 2 tbs Honey
  • ¼ cup Hoisin Sauce
  • ¼ cup liquid from the pot (so don't tip it away when the ribs are done!

Equipment

  • Pressure Cooker
  • Chopping Board
  • Knife
  • Mixing Bowl

Instructions

  1. After removing the membrane from the rack of ribs, cut up the rack in to individual ribs
  2. In a small dish, mix the salt and 5 spice together and sprinkle over the ribs
  3. Add the Soy Sauce and Water to the pot (if you have not reached the minimum level then add more water to the line)
  4. Add the rack to your pressure cooker
  5. Place the ribs on the rack
  6. Pressure Cook on High for 30 minutes and allow the pressure to release naturally for at least 15 minutes
  7. Add the Hoisin Sauce, Honey and ¼ Cup of the Liquid from the Pressure Cooker to a bowl and give it a good whisk
  8. Remove the ribs from the Pressure Cooker and cover them in the sauce and serve.

Serving Suggestion(s)

Serve with rice and prawn crackers and plenty of napkins!!
