How To Cook Cheesy Leeks Recipe

Homemade cheesy leeks are simple to make and nice and quick too!  If you don't want to make your own Cheese Sauce from scratch (it's only around 4 ingredients) then you can always make it from a pot/tub like you can with gravy.

Portions: 1+

Ingredients

  • Leeks
  • Cheese Sauce
  • Dijon Mustard (optional but a little dash is a game changer)!

Equipment

  • Chopping Board
  • Knife
  • Saucepan

Instructions

  1. Wash the leeks under a tap
  2. Chop them up

  3. Add to the saucepan and cover in cold water

  4. Bring to the boil and then simmer for 2-3 minutes (if you're not having any cheese sauce then simmer for 3-4 minutes and then drain and serve)

  5. While you are waiting for the water to boil make the cheese sauce and then set to one side
  6. After the 2-3 minutes are up and to the cheese sauce and give it a gentle stir and ensure all the leeks get covered

  7. Add a dash of Dijon Mustard (a little dab will do you (as Delboy once said)) to elevate this side dish to another level - I'm not a big mustard fan but a tiny bit of Dijon Mustard really elevates this side dish
