LET ME DOWN!
I've been shopping intermittently at Iceland (and later The Food Warehouse (by Iceland)) for as long as I can remember and despite being the first UK food retailer to offer nationwide home delivery (since 1997 I'll have you know) it was only during the lock down we had during the Covid 19 pandemic that I started using their delivery service!
Despite being classed as Critically Extremely Vulnerable and told by the British Government to stay at home and isolate, all the big supermarkets like Tesco, ASDA, Sainsburys, Morrisons and even Waitrose would not give me a delivery slot.
It took me a few weeks before it dawned on me to try Iceland. After signing up on line I was instantly made an Iceland VIP (I assume all their online customers get this status) and was able to get a delivery slot straight away.
They may be the UKs frozen food experts, but they also sell fresh food as well from chicken breasts to milk and butter.
I have to say, Iceland have never, ever, let me down. They have always delivered my shopping. The customer service is brilliant - on one occasion they forgot to deliver a large item that was too big to fir in the back of the van so they left it in the cab in the footwell so I had to ring up my local store and as promised, they turned up the same evening and dropped it off.
Once the van delivering my shopping got stuck in a ditch somewhere so when I had a phone call letting me know this I was expecting them to say they would be cancelling my order or they'd be delivering it a few days later - oh no! That's not the Iceland way!
They just asked it I would still be up until late in the evening as the driver whose van ended up in a ditch had teamed up with a colleague and they were helping each other with their deliveries until (very) late in to the night, it was after 11pm before I got my delivery and you can't get much better service than that!
