Homemade Dipping Salsa Recipe


Portions: 2-4


Ingredients

  • 1tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Red Onion (Finely Chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin
  • 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
  • 1.5 Jalapeno Peppers (or equivalent from a jar)
  • 1 400g tin of chopped tomatoes


Equipment

  • Frying Pan
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Chopping Board
  • Knife

Instructions

  1. Add the Olive Oil and the chopped red onion to the frying pan and cook on a moderate heat until the onion is nice and soft



  2. Stir in the garlic



  3. Add the Cumin, Salt and Jalapenos and give it a quick stir



  4. Pour in the tinned chopped tomatoes



  5. Stir well and simmer for 10-15 minutes



  6. When it has reached the required thickness, pour in to a bowl and allow to cool




Serving Suggestion(s)

Serve with Tortilla Chips/Crisps of course!


Oh, and if you are anything like me and added too many jalapenos, also serve with a glass of cold milk!!
