Deep Fried Chicken Drumsticks

Who doesn't love some succulent, juicy, crispy fried chicken?!

Portions: 1+


Ingredients

  • Chicken Drumsticks (or Thighs)
  • 50:50 egg/milk mix
  • Your Favourite Coating

Equipment

  • Deep Fat Fryer
  • Bowls/Containers
  • Wire Rack

Instructions

  1. Turn on your deep fat fryer and set the temperature to 170°C
  2. Remove your chicken portions from the packet and coat in your favourite chicken seasoning
  3. Add the chicken to the egg/milk mix and ensure the chicken is fully coated
  4. Put the chicken back in your chicken seasoning and ensure it is generously coated - more coating = more flavour

  5. Fry at 170°C for 12-14 minutes
     

  6. Whilst the chicken is frying, place the rack in the oven and set the temperature to 120°C
  7. When nice and crispy on the outside and the internal temperature has reached at least 75°C remove from the fryer and place on the rack in the over for at least 15 minutes to allow the coating to crisp up and stay crispy


Serving Suggestion(s)

Serve with BBQ beans, coleslaw, chips/fries, chicken gravy or just enjoy them on their own!
