beko Freezer Drawer Repair not Replacement

Due to someone (me) over cramming things in to his freezer, the freezer drawer in my beko Fridge-Freezer has been broken for a while.

beko do have an extensive range of spares you can buy and I believe the front cover of the drawer is available to purchase (so I can't be the only person to have ever damaged one)!

However, I'm not a huge fan of throwing away things and buying new when it's possible to do a repair - wherever possible I believe we all need to do our bit for sustainability and there's enough plastic in landfill without me needlessly adding more.

So with that in mind, let me introduce you to my cordless plastic welding machine:

It came with a range of different staples that can be used to repair broken/damaged items made from plastic.

You simply choose the right staple for the job, insert it in to the gun, pull the trigger and melt it in to the item you want to repair!

Once cooled down you snip of the ends of the staples - I also use a rotary tool/sander to get rid of any sharp points on the staples.

It might not look pretty, but who's going to see it when the freezer door is shut?  It feels very strong and solid so time to fill it with food and put it back in my freezer...

Jobs a good un!
