Chinese Style Garlic Gravy

Perfect for pouring on Egg Foo Yung, mushrooms or even chips!

Ingredients

  • ½ tbsp Oil (Groundnut or Vegetable)
  • 1 tsp garlic
  • 1 Cup Water
  • Dash of Light Soy Sauce (for flavour)
  • Dash of Dark Soy Sauce (for colour)
  • Cornflour (mix with water to make a slurry)
Top Tip - instead of water, for that extra boost you could use Chicken Stock..

Equipment

  • Pan/Wok

Instructions

  1. Add the oil to a hot pan/wok
  2. Add the garlic and give it a good stir for a minute or two
  3. Add the water and continue to stir
  4. Add the Dark and Light Soy Sauce - keep stirring!
  5. Thicken with cornflour/water slurry
  6. Serve and Enjoy!

Serving Suggestion(s)

Great on it's own or serve with egg fried rice and/or Chinese style gravy (chicken gravy with a touch of light soy sauce)!
